¡@With
the approval of setting-up and recruitment by Ministry of Education,
the graduate Institute launched into admissive exams at Apr 28th to
May 1st in 2000. Our students are encouraged to acquaint with professional
knowledge concerning with cultural administration and management. After
the official establishment at Aug 1st ,our principal Kun-Liang Chiu
ªô©[¨} endeavor to diversify teaching approaches in the company of combination
of faculty and campus resources. The chair at presence, Professor Mei-Chu
Wang ¤ý¬ü¯], specializes in musicology, cross-field music studies, music
aesthetics, music sociology and music linguistics. In addition to the
above-mentioned attempts, we position ourselves as a research academy
in consideration of the differentiation from other departments of creation
and performance and of the academic specialty shared with the graduate
Institute of Architecture and Historic Preservation and the graduate
Institute of Folk Arts, which at the same time, is the basis for resources
development as to promote our research ability.

with various departments
¡@In cooperation with distinguished artists from other departments in our
school, our faculty is not only composed of experienced professors but
also designs a series of courses pertain to creative thinking. For instance,
Prof Stan Lai ¿àÁn¤t from the Department of Theater, is the artistic director
of "Performance Workshop", one of the most renowned theater
groups in Taiwan. Prof Tzong-Ching Ju ¦¶©v¼y from the Department of Music
plays a leading role in percussion instrument as well as dedicates himself
to cultivate the new generation. Prof Peggy Chiao from the Department
of Filmmaking earns her fame in film critics and teaching.
By drawing support form considerable achievements of these professors,
we set courses applying to creation, theory and practice of managing the
performance groups. Mr. Shyi-Kun Yu, Premiere of the Executive Yuan, Prof
Chi-Nan Chen, Minister of the Council for Cultural Affairs and Prof Tsai-Lang
Huang, Director of Taipei Fine Arts Museum, were invited to deliver lectures.
¡@Moreover, we have Prof Lan Kuei Huang ¶ÀÄõ¶Q, who is expert on Accounting,
and Prof Jen-I Liao ¹ù¤¯¸q, who achieves his prestige through the practice
of international cultural exchanges and academic background of arts theories,
as our full-time professors. |

Alliance with the College of Commerce of National Chengchi University
¡@By establishing the reciprocal relationship with NCCU, we offer lectures
if arts and plan artistic activities for them while NCCU gives us an
aid to have courses of management and marketing strategies.
¡EPassing-on
of practical experience from experts in cultural creative industries
¡@We focus on the academic research as well as on the implementation
of theories. On this basis, classes are designed to meet the needs.
" Forum on Cultural Industry and Art Management ," for instance,
in which the distinguished experts and scholars in the field of cultural
business are invited to deliver a series of speeches, includes lecturing
the multi-strategies of marketing, propaganda and management and sharing
personal experience in combination with local/foreign marketing cases
etc..

| 1.
Qualifications: |
| |
Foreign
students without compatriot status or the R. O. C. citizenship are
qualified to apply for the admission if meeting the following requirements:
¡]1¡^
People graduated from foreign institutes recognized by the Ministry
of Education of the R. O. C. ,( graduating students included ).
¡]2¡^ People
with sound ability to listen, speak, read, and write in Chinese as
well as the average academic performance and major courses at least
graded B or 75 points. |

Time to apply: |

Application
for the admission in the next academic year (starting in Sep.) should
be received every year from Dec. 1 to Feb. 28 of following year.After
the deadline, the application will not be considered until a year
later. |
| 3.
Documents required: |

Two filled copies of the Foreign Students' Admission Application of
Taipei National University of the Arts, including two bust photos
of 2.5 inches in length. |
| |
¡]2¡^
|
Two
photocopies (either in Chinese or English) of the highest degree obtained
by the applicant from a foreign institute and two copies of the English
transcription of full academic records, which should be sealed by
that institute. |
| |

|
Two
recommendations. |
| |

One
copy of the health report ( including checks on the human immune deficiency
virus). |
| |

Evidence
for financial support (enough for the stay in Taiwan). |

copies of Study Plan in Chinese, which in content should include the
summary and the main text of the study plan with bibliography, autobiography
, educational background and working experiences (preferably verified),
a photocopy of the parchment, transcription of full academic records
(preferably with signatures and order of excellence). These documents
should be arranged in said order and in A4 size. |

A
portfolio, which in content can be design works, artistic creations,
academic or literary written works, or records of personal participation
in cultural heritage.

Application

¡° There will be no return of any documents; please do not hand in
the original ones. |
| 4.
Application and examination procedures: |
| |
¡]1¡^ |
All
the required documents should be handed in directly to the Office
of Educational Administration of the University during the application
time. |
| |
¡]2¡^
|
First
stage - examination on documents. The examination will be based on
the applicants' qualifications, study plans, and their portfolios.
Results will be sent to the Office of Educational Administration of
the University by May 31 every year. Those who gain over 70 points
are qualified in this stage. |
| |
¡]3¡^ |
Second stage - tests on Chinese comprehension. Those who are qualified
in the first stage should join tests on Chinese comprehension for
foreign students held by the University. Those who get 60 or more
points for this test will be furthermore examined by the Foreign Students
Examination Committee of the University. After the examination, the
principal of the University will grant the admission to those who
are qualified. |

At registration, foreign students should hand in the documents of
medical care and injuries insurance or national health insurance.
The valid period for these insurances should cover students stay in
Taiwan. Those who don't have the insurances are obliged to make payment
and entrust the University to apply for ones; otherwise, students
will be disqualified from the admission. |

Foreign
students, if arriving at school after 1/3 of a semester, will not
be accepted for that semester; but with the permission from the director
of the Graduate Institute, they may register in the next semester |
| 6.
The above guidelines are subject to amendment or supplement under
the University's Foreign Students Admission Rules. |
